THE PROJECT

Huyton Asphalt was appointed by Laing O’Rourke as the surfacing contractor for the £1 billion transformation programme of Manchester Airport. After sharing the benefits of our innovative new sustainable product, HALO (Ultilow), Laing O’Rourke and MAG approved the roll out of this low carbon asphalt across the project. The project involved major improvements and significant investment in to upgrading the road network infrastructure and parking facilities on the major project.

SUSTAINABILITY AS STANDARD

With the large investment into the upgrading of the road infrastructure and car parking, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to leave a tangible environmental impact through carbon savings we would produce. By installing future infrastructure through using reclaimed asphalt pavements for sustainability and reducing the carbons by using technology, we are protecting the future of our environment. At Huyton Asphalt, we have innovation and sustainability at the forefront of our vision. Providing an environmental product for use on a transport hub of this scale, closes the loop on sustainability by utilising our innovative HALO low carbon technology and use of recycled materials.
